Best known as the gateway to the ruins of Angkor – a symbol of Cambodia’s tourism, the resort town of Siem Reap lies in northwestern Cambodia. Angkor Wat (or Capital Temple) is the world’s largest religious monument originally constructed as a Hindu temple for the Khmer Empire, which was then gradually transformed into a Buddhist temple towards the end of the 12th century. Follow your guide through Bayon and Baphuon temples before venturing into the Royal Enclosure and Phimeanakas.

Program Details

Our chauffeur and tour guide will pick you up right at the door of your hotel before heading to Angkor Thom City’s South Gate, where you’ll learn about the 54 demons that line the road. Our knowledgeable guide will share some stories about this UNESCO-listed site, where remains of the former Khmer Empire date back to as early as the 9th century. The itinerary is flexible up to your interest. 

After visiting about the 100 stone temples survived at Angkor while every of its surroundings had all disappeared, you’ll go on to the old capital city of Angkor Thom to see the Bayon Temple, of which 54 towers are decorated with more than 200 smiling stone faces.

Next you’ll have some time to discover the three-tiered temple of Baphuon. Built in the 11th century and recently restored, Baphuon was made as an homage to the Hindu god Shiva. You’ll have about 02 hours to wander through the Royal Enclosure and Phimeanakas of Angkor Thom. Check out the Terrace of Elephants and the Terrace of Leper Kinds Take, then enjoy a traditional lunch of savoury Cambodian cuisine.

Besides providing knowledge of the ruins and the Khmer Kings who used to rule over a vast domain, our experienced guide also shares with you some interesting folktales about the lost civilisation.

Spend the afternoon wandering the galleries where the story Ramayana was told by carvings, and immerse yourself in the peaceful reflection pools and giant moat’s beauty which’s just part of what makes Angkor Wat unique.

To end your full-day trip with, our chauffeur will take you back to your hotel in Siem Reap.
